HOW TO INSTALL EXCAVATOR RUBBER TRACKS

Instructions are general. Always refer to operator manuals for specific machine information.

1. Ensure your machine is on a flat and solid surface.
2. Release tension from the track, usually by loosening the grease nipple of the track adjuster.
a.Retract the idler back into the machine frame by placing a piece of timber between the idler and track cleats, tracking the track forward. Repeat until the idler is fully retracted.
3. Remove the rubber track from the machine.
4. Inspect the undercarriage to ensure all rollers and idlers are intact and able to rotate freely.
5. Install the new rubber track. Place the rubber track over the sprocket and top roller if applicable, and then over the idler. If required use a pry bar to guide the track over the idler until seated between track cleats.
6. Tighten grease nipple and fill with grease until bottom track rollers and track have approx. 20-30mm gap between them.
7. Lower machine.

HOW TO INSTALL CTL RUBBER TRACKS

Instructions are general. Always refer to operator manuals for specific machine information.

1. Ensure the machine is on a flat and solid surface.
2. Place jack stands or stack hardwood timber at the rear of the machine to support the weight at the rear of the machine when lifted from the front.
3. Using the machine bucket lift the machine off the ground, forcing the weight of the machine to favour the rear, engaging the stands or timber.
4. Use stands to prop up weight under the front of the machine to stop the machine from lowering.
5. Loosen grease nipple.
6. Retract the front idler into the machine frame using a timber block and place it between the track and idler. Rotate the rubber track forward, forcing the idler backwards.
7. Remove the rubber track.
8. Place the new rubber track over the sprocket and align the rear idler into the track cleats. Then use a pry bar to guide the rubber track over the front idler while the rubber track is being tracked forward.
9. Tighten the grease nipple and fill it with grease until the track is 20-30mm from the bottom rollers to the rubber track.
10. Lower machine.
